Dr. Rich LorangDr. Rich Lorang graduated from the University Of Minnesota College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1992.  Rich worked as a both a large and small animal veterinarian for his first six years of practice in Jordan, Minnesota. Since leaving Jordan, Rich has focused his energy on primarily small animal medicine. He very much enjoys seeing a wide range of breeds of cats and dogs, along with the occasional bird, reptile, rodent, and wildlife patient. Rich has been known to say, “I’ll treat anything that can fit through the front door.”

Rich started Countryside Animal Hospital in 2001.  He and his wife Virginia have three children, Zach, Sam, and Mary, two dogs, Sophie and Darla, a cat named Lou, and three hives of honey bees. Rich enjoys camping, kayaking, fishing, gardening, and many other hobbies.

Dr. Signe WassDr. Signe Wass has been practicing at Countryside since 2004. Originally from Underwood, MN, Dr. Wass completed her undergraduate degree at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of MN in 2001. Dr. Wass enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and practicing in the Northfield area. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading and traveling. She and her husband, Tim, have two daughters.  They also share their home with one cat, Trygve.

 

Jess, CVT  joined the Countryside team in December 2010.  Jess is a Northfield native who enjoys working with all kinds  of animals and thier owners.  Jess gratuated in 2007 from Minnesota School of Business-Shakopee with her associates in Veterinary Technology and was certified shortly after.  Client education and special needs patients are particular areas of interest for her.  Jess lives in Northfield with her husband Jon, their son Gabe, American Eskimo dog Beau and two cats, Malakai and Melody.  Jess loves spending as much time as possible traveling and having quality family time.

 

Laura,  CVT joined Countryside in the spring of 2011.  She started out as a veterinary assistant in 1999 and then graduated from Argosy University in 2000 as a CVT.  Laura enjoys being able to work with all the different types of animals, with special interest in feline behavior and non-elective surgery.  In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time outside, gardening and hanging out with friends and family.  Laura and her husband Trevor have 2 daughters, Olivia and Mara, and share their home with a cat, Calvin.

 

Brehanna, CVT- Joined Countryside in February 2012.  Brehanna graduated from school in the winter of 2010, and became certified in the summer of 2011.  Brehanna enjoys working with all of the animals and enjoys meeting the owners that take care of them.  Brehanna has a special interest in hematology and parasitology.  In her spare time she takes care of her two cats and enjoys spending time outside in the sun and traveling with friends all around the world.


Michael Gunderson, our kennels’ general manager, joined us in the summer of 2011. He has a Master’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota Saint Mary’s in Winona and has spent 25 years as an elementary teacher and coach. Michael has head coaching experience in four different sports.

Training and breeding Labrador Retrievers has been a passion of his the past 20 years. He has a yellow Labrador Retriever named Annie.

Michael has three children, Ashlee, Thomas, and Marcus. In his spare time he likes to attend plays, hunt, golf, and get yelled at while umping.
